Doron Electronics, Inc. was founded in 1970 as a manufacturer’s representative organization specializing in electronic, education and training systems. The company covered the northeastern states from offices in Concord, Massachusetts and Clifton, New Jersey. In late 1973, Doron Precision Systems, Inc. was formed to acquire the driver training and learning systems business from the Singer Company. Doron Electronics, Inc. was later merged into Doron Precision Systems, Inc. Doron operated for more than 25 years from its 97,000 square foot corporate headquarters in downtown Binghamton, New York. The Company relocated in August of 2006 to a new facility at the Kirkwood Industrial Park, also in Binghamton.
Since 1973, Doron Precision Systems, Inc. has expanded its engineering and manufacturing capabilities, built a strong customer service department and has added in-house audiovisual software development capabilities. The company has produced more than fifty (50) titles, an average of more than two (2) per year. Doron has also added a line of entertainment simulation systems and motion systems. A substantial international market has been developed for all of its products. Doron systems are in use throughout the United States and in over 60 countries throughout the world. The key business segments for Doron thus include Driving Simulation Systems and Entertainment Simulation Systems
Driving Simulation Systems include a number of different types and models for land vehicles. All of these are complete systems, which include the hardware (simulated vehicle cab) and instructor console/ workstation and system operating software (computer programs) and most significantly, curriculum software. Depending on the training needs, each of these components is selected to develop an optimal solution for the customer. With training curriculum developed in close collaboration with nationally recognized experts in driver training and traffic safety, superior levels of customer support and excellence in innovation and manufacturing, Doron continues to add value across various sub-segments namely Transit, Law Enforcement, Novice/ Experienced Drivers, Truck/ Heavy Goods Vehicles, Emergency Vehicles and Rehabilitation and assessments markets
Entertainment Simulation Systems include product models ranging from the Transport 6TM , ideal for smaller venues to the Doron Active TheatreTM, a completely integrated system that combines reliable motion system technology, big-screen projection and high-end video. As a complete systems manufacturer, Doron designs and integrates these elements and also provides supporting entertainment programs to deliver a true-to-life, thrilling experience for audiences. Dorons entertainment systems have been designed to ensure lower operating costs, high throughput and thus a significant return on investment, leading to a global customer base for products.
