Enfield Fire Department Excecises FEMA Grant to Procure Doron Simulators.
Binghamton, NY, May 2010
Last year, the Enfield, CT Fire Department received a $400,000 grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency to purchase driving simulators to train its firefighters. Enfield took delivery of a 460Fire and 550Fire driver training simulation system after choosing Doron Precision Systems, Inc. of Binghamton, NY as the preferred provider. The system was installed in a 28 foot portable trailer, as the grant was issued on the condition that Enfield share the system with other local departments.
As reported in The Chronicle of Willimantic, CT (May 29, 2010), the trailer has been to Willimantic and is to later travel to Tolland and Manchester departments. “We were just lucky enough to get on the front end of this,” stated acting Chief Marc Scriver. “Emergency response driving is a risky endeavor.”
Doron has over 35 years experience in driving simulation and ongoing collaboration with traffic safety experts, truck, transit, emergency response and law enforcement professionals.
