Doron 450LE Driving Simulator System To Train Georgia Law Enforcement Officers.
Binghamton, NY, April 23 1999
Doron Precision Systems, Inc. announces the opening of a new driver training program for Law Enforcement officers at The College of the Siskiyous, Yreka, California. The new program utilizes an Advanced Mobile Operations Simulator (AMOS) from Doron Precision Systems, Inc. of Binghamton, NY. The AMOS system is housed at the college and the program is jointly administered by the Siskiyou County Sheriff's Department and the college.
The Siskiyou County Sheriffs Department purchased the driving simulation system with a grant from California POST (Peace Officer Standards and Training). The AMOS is used to train officers from local law enforcement agencies in Northern California and Southern Oregon, along with students in the college's criminal justice program. In addition, it will be contracted out for training of personnel from other agencies and various private groups. The AMOS driving simulator was chosen for a number of key reasons. "One of the key reasons is that its full interactivity provides a dynamic training environment for a wide variety of agencies and organizations," states David E. Lindsey, Vice President of Driving Simulation Systems Sales, USA. Lindsey further explains, "Each Advanced Mobile Operations Simulator is a single operator unit that allows the driver to interact with computer generated vehicles in a realistic environment." Multiple AMOS units can be linked together to create real-time scenarios where cooperation and teamwork can be practiced in total safety. With Doron's systems, drivers can practice decision-making in simulated situations similar to those encountered on the streets without putting the driver or public at risk. In addition, a Certified Training Curriculum that includes over 60 California POST training scenarios is part of the package.
