Doron Precision Systems, Inc. Visited by California P.O.S.T. Evaluation Team.
Binghamton, NY, October 1999
On October 21 and 22, 1999, members of the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) Driving Simulator Scenario Evaluation Team visited Doron Precision Systems, Inc. During the visit, the P.O.S.T. team drove and evaluated training curriculum for Doron's new AMOS II System.
Each AMOS II is a single operator unit that allows drivers to interact with other vehicles in a computer-generated environment. AMOS II units can be linked to create real-time driving scenarios where cooperation, teamwork and tactical procedures are practiced in the safety of the simulators.
The scenario evaluation team approved sixty-five driving scenarios for use in California (4 more than the minimum 61 required by P.O.S.T.). Doron's driving scenarios, newly developed for its AMOS II system, are the first approved and certified by California P.O.S.T. for tactical driver training in the state of California.
Doron's AMOS II is a fully interactive driving simulator that emphasizes appropriate procedural tactics for emergency response in mutual aid situations, enhances training judgment, cooperation and teamwork, and improves operation effectiveness and safety. The AMOS II is designed to provide a dynamic training environment for a wide variety of agencies and organizations.
The AMOS II is Doron's newest and most Advanced Mobile Operation Simulator. The new system has a greatly enhanced visual system that provides clear, sharp, enriched, graphics. Five monitors provide a full undistorted 225o field of view that allows drivers to have a panoramic view of an enlarged environment. The environment includes realistic building detail, divided highways and interstate highways with elevated interchanges plus textured and realistic vehicles.
