Doron’s 4-place 550LE driving simulator system to train Oregon Law Enforcement Officers.
Binghamton, NY, April 2005

Doron Precision Systems, Inc. announced today the delivery and installation of a 4-place 550LE driver training system at the agency’s public safety training center of the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office located in Oregon City, Oregon. The grand opening ceremony was marked by significant media coverage. Dignitaries present included representatives of the County's Board of Commissioners, Purchasing Department, Risk Management Team, the sheriff and the former Sheriff. A Clackamas County Evaluation committee awarded the contract to Doron after a detailed evaluation of different proposals based on criteria such as Project Understanding, Experience and Qualification of the team, Project Cost and Customer References. In each of the criteria, Doron’s score was significantly higher than that of the closest competitors, if not the same.

“After a detailed review of available driving simulation product options, we found Doron’s 550 LE to be the best. We are very cognizant of Doron’s philosophies of driving simulators. It is a pleasure and privilege to be in touch with Doron’s team, that has been a tremendous resource and support for us“ remarked Captain Michael Machado, Administrative Service Commander, Clackamas County Sheriff's Office. The Clackamas County government cable channel is in the process of developing a 30-minute program featuring the agency, Doron’s 550LE system, the agency’s firearms training simulator and other aspects of the agency’s training program. The program will be aired, several times a month, in every similar government agency in the state.

The 550LE™ includes significant, new advancements for effective and cost efficient training providing the best value to customers. In addition to the well-accepted and proven features of Doron’s 450LE™, the 550LE adds impact to law enforcement training. Trainees get closer to actual driving situations through greater realism in graphics. Included is the all-new digital voice instruction feature exclusively from Doron, various vehicle-malfunction capabilities, Doron’s TrueSteerTM servo steering system, SkillTrak™ Reaction Evaluation feature and a vehicle positioning system (DPS™). The 550LE thus forms the simulator of choice supporting Clackamas County’s law enforcement preparedness.
